The new US Ambassador to Thailand, Kristie Kenney, will be arriving this weekend and she has already created quite a stir on the Internet. Unlike other Ambassadors we have had, this one is not only Internet savvy, but she is also very into social media. She has already posted one video on youtube (see here) which is a message for the Thai people. She has now released her second video where she reveals how excited she is to be coming to Thailand where she can eat Thai food every day. She says that everyone in America already knows about "tom yum", "pad thai" and "khao pad" as they are often served in Thai restaurants there. But she is looking forward to discovering some new and delicious dishes.

This is the second video that US Ambassador Kristie Kenney has posted on youtube. In this one she is telling the Thai people how much she loves Thai food. She also wants people to tell her their favourite Thai dishes and also where it can be bought. To make it more fun, she has orgnaized a competition on the Facebook page for the US Embassy in Bangkok. The competition was launched on Thursday 6th January 2011 and runs until Wednesday 12th January 2011. People are invited to post comments on the embassies Facebook page as to what is their favourite Thai dishes. The three people with the most "likes" at the closing date will be invited to meet with Ambassador Kenney in person. Click here to visit the Facebook page.
